$50,000 COCA-COLA STAKES DRAWS 10 NOMINATIONS

AUBURN, Wash. (June 10, 2018) – Double barrel stakes action next weekend at Emerald Downs, with older fillies and mares meeting in Saturday’s $50,000 Washington State Legislators Stakes and 3-year-old colts and geldings in Sunday’s $50,000 Coca-Cola Stakes.

At 6 ½ furlongs, the Washington State Legislators anchors the first twilight Saturday of the season and trainer Blaine Wright has four nominees, including recent stakes winners Invested Prospect and Alliford Bay. Trainer Jeff Metz also nominated a pair of stakes winners—2016 Washington State Legislators champion B C Z Middleton and 2017 Emerald Downs’ Top Older Filly or Mare Citizen Kitty.

The Coca-Cola, also 6 ½ furlongs, features Whatwasithinking, Vicente’s Shadow and Boundary Bay, first, second and third in the May 27 Auburn Stakes. Sippin Fire and Elliott Bay, fifth and sixth in the Auburn, figure to move forward with a race under their belts.
