Emerald Downs 2021 Ticketing & Admission Information – Updated June 14, 2021

We are excited to welcome back fans for the 2021 racing season!  The health & safety of our fans, employees, and racing industry participants is and always will be our top priority! 

A day at the track will look and feel different in 2021 but the thrills and fun of live horse racing will be the same as always!  Please read over all race day information before purchasing tickets. 

Tickets are on sale for all race dates through July 1.  You are strongly encouraged to pre purchase tickets on-line.  Tickets will also be available at the gates based on availability.  Daily attendance is limited as per protocols in place for spectator sports in Washington.

Tickets for Saturday, July 3 Fireworks go on sale Thursday, June 17!

Racing starts at 6 PM Wednesday & Thursday, 2:30 PM Sunday

Fully vaccinated fans attending live racing are not required to wear masks

  • Fans who show proof of vaccination will receive a wristband on track level by the vaccinated-only section where social distancing is not required. The wristband allows you to go mask-free in all areas of the racetrack and receive drink discounts.
  • For unvaccinated fans (age 5 and older) or those that cannot show proof of vaccination, masks are required at all times except when actively drinking or eating while seated.

VACCINATED SECTIONS: We will offer a vaccinated section on track level and on the 3rd floor which are reserved for people 16 and older who are fully vaccinated. Children aged 12-15 may either show proof of vaccination or proof of a negative test 72 hours prior to admission. – An attendee vaccinated against COVID-19 by a two-dose mRNA vaccine (such as Moderna and Pfizer), or a single dose vaccine (such as Johnson & Johnson), are considered “fully vaccinated” two weeks after the final dose of vaccine (the second dose for a two-dose regimen, or the single dose for a single-dose regimen). Documentation of vaccination status must be available upon request at any time.

Any person with a ticket for a fully vaccinated-only section who is 16 years of age or older and cannot provide the required verification of full vaccination, or between 5 and 15 years of age and cannot provide the required proof of a negative test within 72 hours of admission, will not be permitted to enter the vaccinated section.

Children aged 12-15 may either show proof of vaccination or proof of a negative test 72 hours prior to admission. Any individual who is symptomatic, even if fully vaccinated, will not be allowed to enter the vaccinated section.

Physical distancing is not required in a fully vaccinated-only sections. Face coverings are not required for vaccinated spectators anywhere in the track once you receive your wristband.

Documentation: The following are acceptable as proof of full vaccination: Vaccination card (which includes name of person vaccinated, type of vaccine provided and date last dose administered) OR a photo of a vaccination card as a separate document OR a photo of the attendee’s vaccine card stored on a phone or electronic device OR documentation of vaccination from a healthcare provider electronic health record or state Immunization Information System record.

ADULT TICKET PRICES: $10 per person now includes general admission and a Race Program. This is a $2 savings from previous years. Some ticket prices for promotional days could be more expensive.

ADULT TICKET AND RESERVED GRANDSTAND SEAT: $13 per person includes general admission, a Race Program, and a reserved grandstand seat. Reserved seats will be socially spaced between groups. Fully vaccinated fans only.

CHILDREN TICKETS: $5 for children ages 17 and under. ($8 includes a reserved seat)

PARKING: Free general parking. There will be no Preferred or Valet parking service on Wednesday and Thursday racing. $10 Preferred parking when racing on Saturday and Sunday.

ADMISSION POLICIES: No outside food or beverages permitted with the exception of a sealed 32 oz bottle of water or smaller per person.

SEATING: General admission bench and table seating is available throughout the track. All seating will be clearly marked to ensure 6-foot separation between groups. There are no social distancing requirements in the vaccinated section.

SMOKING: There is no smoking in any public areas of the track.

FOOD & BEVERAGE/CONCESSIONS: All bars and concessions are cashless with the exception of Quick Pix on Floor 5. If you do not have a debit or credit card you may purchase a gift card at Customer Service on track level or Floor 5. You may also use Apple or Google Pay. Menus will be streamlined with food packaged and ready to expedite your time at the concession stands.

GIFT CARDS: May be purchased at Customer Service on track level or Floor 5. These cards can be replenished at any Customer Service location. Gift cards can be used at any concession or beer stand throughout the facility.

WAGERING: A greater percentage of wagering machines will be self-service. Please follow the floor markers to maintain social distancing while waiting to bet. Contactless wagering is available using betemerald.com while at the track. See customer service for details.

RACING FORMS: Forms and simulcast programs will be sold at customer service.

GIFT SHOP: The Gift Shop is currently closed.

5th FLOOR DINING TABLES: A limited number of Rainier Dining tables will be open on Floor 5. Each table has a television monitor. These will be first come, first served on each race day. There will be no dining service. You may order food and beverages at Quick Pix and bring them to your table. Other tables on the 5th floor are also available first come, first served.

BOX SEATS: Boxes will be sold by calling customer service at 253-253-288-7711. As only a limited number of boxes are available, priority will be given to 2019 box seat holders. Box Seats are available on Floors 3 & 5.

SUITES: There are four suites available each race day and the Trackside Pavilion. Please call  253-288-7700 if you are interested. Windows must remain open in all suites and occupancy is limited to 50%. However, if everyone in your suite is fully vaccinated occupancy can be 100%.

HORSEMEN: Horsemen and all WHRC current license holders may enter for free and may also bring a guest. Horsemen can simply show their WHRC license at the front gates.

SIMULCASTING: Watch & wager on tracks from coast to coast every Wednesday through Sunday on Floor 5. Admission is Free except during live racing hours. On race days we begin charging admission three hours prior to the first live race of the day.  Gates open 30 minutes prior to the first race.

TEMPERATURE CHECKS & HEALTH SCREENINGS: Fans are not required to undergo temperature checks or other health screenings except to access Floors 5 and 6. Please stay home if you are not feeling well or have been exposed to COVID 19.

Q. How many fans can attend a day at the races?
A. Emerald Downs attendance is limited to 50%. Additional capacity is available in vaccinated sections.

Q. Why is now an admission charge for children?
A. With limitations on attendance, we need to account for everyone who attends the races.

Q. Will you be having July 3 Fireworks and other popular promotions?
A. Yes, June 20 Anniversary Day, July 3 Fireworks, July 25 Corgi Races, Aug. 22 Wiener Dog & Wiener Wannabe races, Sept. 5 Italian Day and Sept. 10-12 Indian Relay Racing are scheduled

Q. Will you have any offers on Groupon?
A. Yes!

Q. Where can I sit with my general admission ticket?
A. Our benches will be clearly marked and blocked off in areas to maintain social distancing. Picnic tables will also be available. There will be no required social distancing in the vaccinated section.

Q. I always brought food to the track, why can I no longer do that?
A. As most fans arrive around the same time, we are doing our best to speed up the entry process, limit contact, and do it safely. This will also help us keep the track clean and sanitized. (plus, we sell great tasting food!)

Q. Will you have an area for people to smoke?
A. Until further notice there will be no smoking in any public areas of the track. You can go outside the front gates as you may receive a stamp and re-enter.

Q. Will you consider adding more weekend race days?
A. Sunday racing begins on June 20. We will look at adding more as the season progresses.
