Mach One Rules (No. 6) edges Prime Engine in the Budweiser Stakes
MILE PREVIEW DAY FEATURES FOUR STAKES
AUBURN, Wash. (July 9, 2017) – Emerald Downs’ offers four stakes races—including the final major preps for older handicap horses en route to the Longacres Mile and for fillies and mares on the road to the Emerald Distaff—on Sunday, July 16.
Thirteen horses, including fierce rivals Barkley and Mach One Rules, are nominated to the $50,000 Mt. Rainier Stakes at 1 1/16 miles, and 10 fillies and mares, including recent stakes winners Citizen Kitty and Profound Moment, top the nominees to the $50,000 Boeing Stakes at one mile.
The Mt. Rainier is the final steppingstone to the $200,000 Longacres Mile (G3) and the Boeing Stakes is the final tune-up for the $65,000 Emerald Distaff, both to be run Sunday, August 13.
In addition to the Mt. Rainier and Boeing, 2-year-old fillies race 5 ½ furlongs in the $50,000 Angie C Stakes, and 2-year-old colts or geldings sprint 5 ½ furlongs in the Emerald Express.
