DONNE CATTIVE PREVAILS IN SATURDAY FEATURE

AUBURN, Wash. (Aug. 5, 2023) – Donne Cattive wore down a loose on the lead Goat Rocks and edged clear for a 1 ¼-length victory in Saturday’s $18,000 Muckleshoot Casino Purse for older fillies and mares at Emerald Downs.

With Silvio Amador riding his second winner Saturday, Donne Cattive covered six furlongs in 1:10.27 over a fast track and paid $6.40 as the strong second choice in the wagering. Faustino Coco Patino saddled the winner for owners Luigi DiPietro and Donna DiPietro.

Goat Rocks cleared the field early, setting fractions of :21.72 and :44.27, and carried a short lead into the lane, but was overtaken by Donne Cattive past mid-stretch, with the latter drawing clear late for the victory.

A 4-year-old DiPietro homebred by Blame out of stakes-winning Ronda Rocks, Donne Cattive earned $10,440 to push her career total to $28,270. Her overall record is 2-1-1 from nine starts, including a 1-1-1 record in four starts this year.

Goat Rocks, a 13 to 1 longshot ridden by Francico Diaz-Lopez, held second, and was followed by Starry Beach, 1 to 2 favorite Me Gusta Luna, and Distinctive Deb. Chic Samarai was scratched earlier in the day.
