NAN ELIZABETH WINS AGAIN AT EMERALD DOWNS

AUBURN, Wash. (Aug. 26, 2023) – Nan Elizabeth collared the leaders in the final furlong and drew clear for a three-length score in Saturday’s $25,000 Muckleshoot Casino Purse for older fillies and mares at Emerald Downs.

With Kevin Orozco riding, Nan Elizabeth covered six panels in 1:10.45 and paid $7.40 as the second betting choice. Red-hot Luciano Medina Gabriel is the winning owner and trainer.

Including a win by Baby Frankie ($5.20) in the second race, Medina Gabriel has now won with 13 of his last 28 starters and tied Justin Evans for first in the owners’ standings at 15 wins each.

For Nan Elizabeth, it’s her fourth win of the meet; only Dirt Road Red with five wins has more wins this season. She also has won her last four sprints while boosting her life mark to 6-3-3 in 22 starts with earnings of $91,660.

Silvery Orb, Jose Zunino up, rallied for second, while Zippin Sevenz, Kevin Radke riding, finished third. Stepup, Miss Dynamic, and Miss Bella rounded out the order of finish; Cause She’s a Lady was a late scratch.
