Dutton and Jennifer Whitaker are all alone in the Muckleshoot Casino Purse

DUTTON REPEATS POWERFULLY IN FRIDAY FEATURE RACE

AUBURN, Wash. (Sept. 18, 2020) – Dutton remained unbeaten and untested with a runaway 14-length victory in the $19,000 Muckleshoot Casino Purse for 2-year-olds Friday at Emerald Downs.

Ridden by Jennifer Whitaker, Dutton zipped six furlongs in 1:09.01 on a fast track and paid $2.20, $2.10 and $2.10. The winner accounted for $34,155 of $45,099 wagered in the win pool.

Trained by Howard Belvoir and owned by Rising Star Stable VIII, Dutton is now two for 2 with earnings of $30,250. Debuting at 6 ½ furlongs in the WTBOA Lads Stakes last month, Dutton led gate to wire and scored by nine widening lengths.

Friday, Dutton rocketed through fractions of :21.38, :43.91 and :56.58, opened an eight-length lead past mid-stretch and won with total authority. A Washington-bred by Noosito, Dutton could make his next start in the $75,000 Gottstein Futurity at 1 1/16 miles on Thursday, Oct. 1.

Camden High, one of three fillies in the race, closed from last to finish second and paid $4.20 and $3.40. John’s On Point, the distant second choice at 9 to 1, held third and paid $3 to show. Zeynep, David Nose Best and Coastal Run completed the order of finish.

Chris the Beaver and Mean Sharon were both scratched.

Trainer Steve Bullock saddled 3-year-old fillies You Go Girl ($3.40) and Known Value to a one-two finish in race seven. . .Live racing resumes Sunday at 2 p.m.
