MASTER RECOVERY RALLIES FROM FAR BACK
AUBURN, Wash. (July 15, 2022) – Master Recovery closed from the clouds and scored a major upset in Friday’s $11,500 Muckleshoot Casino Purse for 3-year-olds and up at Emerald Downs.
Under a rail-skimming ride by Javier Matias, Master Recovery powered past Robs Lucky Spirit in the final strides for a three-quarter-length victory in 1:37.73 for one mile. The second longest price in the race, Mastery Recovery returned $32.40, $13.60, and $6.40.
Owned by John Guidos and trained by Jose Raudales, Master Recovery is 2-1-0 from five starts this meet and 6-3-3 in 23 starts overall with earnings of $59,422. A 5-year-old by Bodemeister, Master Recovery was a triple winner here in 2021.
Robs Lucky Spirit, ridden by Kevin Radke, overtook Foster Boi for the lead in deep stretch, but yielded to Master Recovery late. Off at odds of 10-1, Robs Lucky Spirit paid $12.40 and $6.20.
Foster Boi, ridden by Eddie Martinez, set fractions of :23.75, :46.34, and 1:10.52, carried a short lead into the stretch, but settled for third and a $3.80 show payoff.
Blame It On Kitty, Upper Room, Jedi Knight, Dyf, and Sparkling Lute rounded out the order of finish. The 7 to 5 favorite, Jedi Knight pressed the pace to upper stretch and gave way in the lane.
