OREO’S DREAM SHARP IN FRIDAY FEATURE RACE
AUBURN, Wash. (Aug. 5, 2022) – Oreo’s Dream took command into the lane and drew clear for a 2 ¼-length victory in Friday’s $25,000 Muckleshoot Casino Purse for fillies and mares 3-year-olds and up at Emerald Downs.
Ridden by Juan Gutierrez, Oreo’s Dream ran 6 ½ furlongs in 1:16.85 and paid $8.20 as third betting choice in a field of six. Greg Moore is the winning trainer for owners MoSaWi Racing, Ellen Moore, and Jim Moore.
Oreo’s Dream pressed Pearl River Delta through fractions of :22.39 and :45.08, stuck a head in front at the quarter-pole, opened a clear lead past mid-stretch and won with total authority.
A 4-year-old Washington-bred by Coast Guard, Oreo’s Dream has raced three times in 2022—finishing, third, second and first—and is 3-3-3 in 13 lifetime starts with earnings of $54,259, including $13,750 for Friday’s victory.
Princess Payton, a 10 to 1 longshot ridden by Eddie Martinez, rallied late to snatch second, while Pearl River Delta, ridden by Kevin Radke, held third. Suddenly Winning finished fourth while Zazen and Cielo Diamante-co-favorites at 2 to 1-finished fifth and sixth.
NOTES: Total mutuel handle was $915,826 on a seven-race card. . .In the Friday opener, Willing to Burn ($9) re-rallied past Collecting Stars to become the meet’s first four-time winner.
