Join us for our 29th Opening Day! First race 1:30 PM.

Dress up as it will be a festive day with the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby from Churchill Downs. Lots of stakes races at Churchill Downs with the Derby having a post time at 3:57 PM PDT.

Gates open 11 AM for all FLOORS and TRACK LEVEL

Full-Card Simulcasting from Churchill Downs starts at 7:30 AM. Gates Open 7 AM Only the 5th floor is open at this time, first come first served

Emerald Downs $1,000 Fabulous Hat & Best Dressed Contest

Official Rules

1. All fans attending the races on Saturday may enter. No purchase necessary to enter contest.

2. Employees of Emerald Downs Racing LLC are ineligible.

3. Fans may enter the contest at the designated table near Customer Service on track level starting at 11 AM.

4. Deadline for entry 2:30 PM.

5. Each participant must complete an entry form and have their picture taken. Pictures for this promotion may be used on the Emerald Downs Facebook Page, website and other social media platforms.

6. A panel of judges will review all the photos and select winners in the following categories

• Best Dressed Gentleman
• Best Dressed Lady
• Best Dressed Girl (ages 14 and under)
• Best Dressed Boy (ages 14 and under)
• Best Handmade Hat
• Best Horse-themed Hat
• Best Dressed Couple
• Three Judge’s Picks for most creative (3 Winners)

Each winner will receive $100 in cash
