Turn Back the Clock Day (1970s)

That’s right, we are going back to the 1970s when racing in Western Washington was held at Longacres in Renton, WA.

 

  • $3 Admission (includes program)
  • Dress up in your favorite 70s ensemble.
  • $2.50 Hotdogs, $1.50 Ice-cream Sandwich, $1 Fountain Soda,
  • $15 Carved Sandwich at Rico’s Pizza (Longacres was famous for their Roast Beef Carved Sandwiches)
  • Special guests from Longacres and 1970s music and videos throughout the day.
  • 1970’s Silent Auction to raise money for the PDJF on track level.
  • Special wagering menu, $2 Win, $2 Place, $2 Show, $1 Exacta, and 50-cent Trifecta every race plus a $1 Daily Double on the first two and last two races of the day.

 

Legendary Northwest jockey Gary Baze will be at Emerald Downs and other riders from the 1970s will be interviewed by Joe Withee.

Mr. Baze won three Riding Titles at Longacres in the 1970s – 1973 as an apprentice, 1974 and 1975. Larry Pierce was the only other jockey with three titles – 1970, 1971 and 1976.
