LADY CAMPBELL ALL THE WAY IN THURSDAY FEATURE

AUBURN, Wash. (July 29, 2021) – Lady Campbell held off Please Me late and scored a 1 ¼-length victory in Thursday’s $17,160 Budweiser Purse for older fillies and mares.

With Eddie Martinez riding, Lady Campbell ran 6 ½ furlongs in 1:16.82 and paid $6.80 as second choice in the wagering. Tom Wenzel is the winning trainer for owner Code Four Stable.

Lady Campbell set fractions of :21.76, :44.50 and 1:09.82, shaking off Stay in Grace in mid-stretch and turning back a late bid from Please Me. A 5-year-old Kentucky-bred by Dialed In, Lady Campbell is 5-1-7 in 19 starts lifetime with earnings of $71,838. She is four for four at 6 ½ furlongs.

Please Me, ridden by Joree Scriver, closed strongly in mid-track for second place while Stay in Grace, the 7 to 5 favorite ridden by Julien Couton, finished third. Fortune’s Freude, Lucky Long Legs and Red Noon Rising rounded out the order of finish.
