YOUNG LIFE LAURA SHINES BRIGHT AT EMERALD DOWNS
AUBURN, Wash. (May 19, 2024) – Back at her favorite track, Young Life Laura rolled from slightly off the pace for an upset victory in Sunday’s $25,500 Muckleshoot Casino Purse at Emerald Downs.
Ridden by Carlos Montalvo, Young Life Laura covered the six furlongs in 1:09.95 on a fast track and paid $25.02 as the longest shot in a field of six older fillies and mares. Alexis Silva-Martinez is the winning trainer for owner Filos Stable. The 4-year-old daughter of Mr. Rancho Vista won four races here last year and is now one for one in 2024.
Silvery Orb, ridden by Jose Zunino, rallied for second while Ruby Ray finished third. You Go Girl, the 9 to 5 betting favorite, finished fourth with Stein’s Girl and Stepup rounding out the complete order of finish.
Young Life Laura improved to 5-0-1 in 15 starts overall, and 5-0-1 in 12 races at Emerald Downs with career earnings of $63,385.

A 6-year-old Violence gelding, Prisoner is 11-0-0 in 21 starts with earnings of $333,864. . . Chedoodlejo, dam of Young Life Laura, is the younger sister of Mike Man’s Gold, who won a record 26 races at Emerald Downs. . .
