DIRT ROAD RED KEEPS ON ROLLING AT EMERALD DOWNS

AUBURN, Wash. (June 29, 2024) – Dirt Road Red continues his winning ways at Emerald Downs, holding off Falsely Accused for a neck victory in Saturday’s $25,500 Muckleshoot Casino Purse for 3-year-olds and up.

Ridden by Luis Reyes, Dirt Road Red ran a mile and 70 yards in 1:39.97 and paid $12.10 as third betting choice in a field of six. Candi Cryderman is the winning trainer for owner John Parker of Lake Bay, Wash.

Dirt Road Red has won two straight and piled up seven the last two years at Emerald Downs, including honors as Top Claimer of 2023.

With Coastal Jazz and Ever a Rebel setting blazing fractions of :22.08 and :44.70, Dirt Road Red was content to lay in third place. Sling-shotting to the lead off the last turn, Dirt Road Red was two lengths clear past mid-stretch and grinded out the victory.

A 7-year-old California-bred by Clubhouse Ride, Dirt Road Red is 13 for 54 lifetime with earnings of $236,696. His Emerald Downs ledger is 7 for 16 with earnings of $104,460.

Falsely Accused, the longest shot on the board, rallied from last to finish a close second, with Ever a Rebel finishing third. Rounding out the order of finish were You’re the Cause, Coastal Jazz, and Chuckanut Bay.

With the win, Parker tied Rakoczy Racing and Justin Evans atop the 2024 owners’ standings at five victories apiece. Parker has been leading owner six of the last eight years and ranks No. 2 all-time with 194 wins at Emerald Downs.
