OUR LYLA GRACE TOO GOOD IN SATURDAY FEATURE RACE
AUBURN, Wash. (Aug. 14, 2021) – Our Lyla Grace rallied from behind for a 5 ¾-length victory Saturday in the $16,500 Muckleshoot Casino Purse for fillies and mares at Emerald Downs.
With Jose Zunino riding, Our Lyla Grace ran six furlongs in 1:10.72 and paid $6.80 as second choice in the wagering. Tom Wenzel is the trainer for Code Four Stable.
A 3-year-old Kentucky-bred by Cinco Charlie, Our Lyla Grace has won two straight and is 2-1-0 in three starts overall with earnings of $20,295.
Jacana, the lone 4-year-old in the race, finished second at 16 to 1 while Oreo’s Dream, Lutes Lil Gift, Bottle Neck and Coastal Run rounded out the order of finish. Patricia L was scratched earlier in the day.
Code Four Stable is now 4-1-1 from seven starts with two wins apiece from Our Lyla Grace and Lady Campbell. A 5-year-old mare by Dialed In, Lady Campbell is the 7 to 5 morning line favorite in Sunday’s fifth race for $20,000 claimers.
Zunino and Wenzel have been a strong combination this season, compiling a 5-3-1 record in 12 starts.
