Beau Rocks catches A Filly Can Dream at the wire.

BEAU ROCKS BAGS FRIDAY FEATURE

AUBURN, Wash. (June 21, 2019) – Beau Rocks surged past A Filly Can Dream in the final strides for a neck victory Friday in the $11,200 Muckleshoot Casino Purse for fillies and mares at Emerald Downs.

Ridden by Javier Matias, Beau Rocks ran six furlongs in 1:10.01 and paid $4.80 $2.40 and $2.10. Blaine Wright is the trainer for owners Rollin Donut Stable.

A 5-year-old California-bred by Rocky Bar, Beau Rocks has fired all four starts this season, compiling a 1-2-0 record with $10,935 in earnings. Her overall mark is 3-4-3 from 18 starts with $85,502 in earnings.

A Filly Can Dream shook off Getting Joellenned past mid-stretch before yielding to Beau Rocks in the final jumps. Ridden by Franklin Ceballos, the runner-up paid $2.40 and $2.10.

Getting Joellened, with Patrick Henry Jr. riding, held third and paid $2.20 to show, while Camano Comet and She Got Away completed the order of finish. E Z Star Maker, Stay in Grace and Sugarseeker were scratched earlier in the day.

NOTES: Flatter Cat ($5.80) romped in the Friday finale to join He’s Not Grey as the only triple winners at the meet. All three Flatter Cat wins were gate to wire under Juan Gutierrez for trainer Pablo De Jesus and owner Hopper’s Racing Stable. . . . Gutierrez and Gary Wales rode two winners each on the seven-race program. . .Wales has wins on 14 consecutive cards and leads Javier Matias 36-21 in the jockeys’ standings. . .The Emerald Downs’ riding colony observed a moment of silence for former Emerald Downs’ jockey Ben Russell and Northern California rider Shawn Spikes, who both passed away last week. . .Oldtimers Vision, bidding for his 12th career win at Emerald Downs, was beaten a head by West Coast Indy ($9.20) in race two and was claimed by Blaine Wright in a four-way shake. . .Live racing continues Saturday with first post 5 p.m.
