GUARDINGTHEMONEY SUPER SHARP IN FRIDAY FEATURE

AUBURN, Wash. (August 18, 2017) – Guradingthemoney poured it on through the lane and scored a 4 ¼-length victory over Hot Bobby in Friday’s $11,200 Muckelshoot Casino Purse for 3-year-olds and up.

With apprentice David Martin aboard, Guardingthemoney ran one mile in a swift 1:34.79 and paid $15.20, $7.40 and $3.40. Jose Navarro is the winning trainer for owners Clemans View Farm and Bill Nicklos.

Hustled to the lead from the No. 5 post, Guardingthemoney set fractions of :23.63, :46.80, 1:10.42 and 1:22.31, and remained well clear to the wire.

A 4-year-old Washington-bred by Coast Guard-Kaaaching, Guardingthemoney is 2-1-0 in three starts at one mile, and 3-2-4 in 15 starts overall with earnings of $35,517.

Hot Bobby, the 2-1 favorite ridden by Kevin Orozco, edged Cross Creek by a neck for second and paid $3.80 and $2.60. Hot Bobby has compiled a win and four seconds in five starts at the meet.

Cross Creek, ridden by Rocco Bowen, raced nearest the winner throughout, but weakened slightly to finish third and paid $3 to show. Credit Line overcame a horrendous start to finish fourth, and Atypique, Archie Graham and Coming in Hot rounded out the order of finish.

NOTES: Four of Friday’s seven winners paid at least 12-1 and triggered the second and third largest payouts of the season in the $0.50 Pick 4. . .The late Pick 4 paid a whopping $10,111.90, the and the early Pick 4 returned $7,807.65. . .The boxcar payouts mean healthy Saturday carryovers of $12,848 in the $0.50 Pick 5, and $6,479 in the $0.20 Pick 7. . .In Friday’s fifth race for $10,000 claimers, Oldtimers Vision was disqualified for interference into the clubhouse turn, and second-place finisher Wando Cat ($8) was awarded the victory. . .Sierra Romance ($30) scored a big upset under Lorenzo Lopez in the second race and gave veteran trainer Scott Freeman his first win of the season. . .In race three, Awesome Kid rallied for a $43.20 upset under Eliska Kubinova to give America’s youngest owner—Emilie Kubinova Rosales—her second win this season. . .Vancouver-based trainer Sylvea Gregory saddled Smoke N Sizzle to a $38.60 victory in Race 4. . .Live racing continues Saturday with first post 2 p.m.
