$31,144 CARRYOVER IN WEDNESDAY $0.50 PICK 5
The first $0.50 Pick 5 carryover of the season—$31,144—is up for grabs on Wednesday races 6 through 10. The sequence features 44 horses including an eight-horse field in the $15,600 feature for older $25,000 claimers at 5 ½ furlongs.

WEEK 6 FEATURES 20 RACES OVER TWO DAYS
Total entries for Week 6 are 185 horses in 20 races or 8.25 per race. The season total is 989 horses over 12 days (121 races) or 8.1 a race.

WEEK 6 FEATURE RACES:

Peter Redekop

$40,000 ANGIE C STAKES, 2YO FILLIES, 5 ½ F (THURSDAY, JULY 30, RACE 7, 7:51 PM): Today’s double-header begins a revised stakes schedule featuring 15 stakes including five for 2-year-olds. The Angie C traditionally favors speed types with 12 of 24 winners leading gate to wire. Canadian invader Anothersunnyday earned a giant Beyer while drilling a highly-regarded colt two weeks ago at Hastings and will be a short price to remain unbeaten for Peter Redekop and Blaine Wright. First-time starter Malibu Mistress is out of a dam that has produced a couple decent runners and capped a fine series of works with a sharp five-furlong gate drill. Frank Lucarelli has won 21 stakes with 2-year-olds at Emerald Downs and saddles  three of the eight runners in the race: Time for GoldManaging Brianna and In the Vault. All three showed ability in their debuts. Be Faithful, dam of In the Vault, is the sister of Emerald Downs champions Winning Machine and Champagneandcaviar. Lets Declare Peace has some eye-catching works to go with a strong pedigree (half to quadruple stakes winner and $306k earner Twelve Twenty Two) but the barn rarely wins with firsters.

Seattlesbestsecret

$40,000 KING COUNTY EXPRESS, 2YO COLTS & GELDINGS, 5 ½ F (THURSDAY, JULY 30, RACE 9, 8:50 PM): First-time starter Dutton has some eye popping works on his ledger and trainer Howard Belvoir has a record six wins in this stakes. The dam, a sister to stakes winners Grace Bay and Irene’s Bonus Baby, has already produced two decent foals. While the rail is a concern, horses from the No. 1 post are 67 for 450 (15 percent) at 5 1/2 furlongs the last five seasons at Emerald Downs. Seattlesbestsecret drilled a promising field of maiden specials three weeks ago and bounced back with a bullet five panels. Great Gasby missed the break and finished a distant second at odds-on two weeks ago in Canada, but the highly-regarded son of Tiznow is reputed to be a good one.

Bullet Drill (left)

$15,600 MUCKLESHOOT CASINO PURSE, $25,000/$20,000 CLG, 3YO & UP, 5 ½ F (WEDNESDAY, JULY 29, RACE 9, 6:24 PM): With the exception of Wheresthemoneyjack, who makes his first start in 23 months, every horse in this field enters the race with good recent form. Old pro Grinder Sparksaglo drops after a good try against the top sprinters on the grounds and could take this field all the way. Bullet Drill and Freiburg rallied past Grinder at this level last month while deep closer Legitimate Cause was rolling late in his season debut. The Press ran evenly against many of these foes and has a long history of outrunning his odds.
