WEEK 4 FEATURE RACES
Wednesday, June 9, Race 8 (9:15 p.m.) $20,900 Allowance, 3YO & UP, 6 furlongs: Hard to Deny, Stand To, Spittin Image and Time ‘n Time Again, third fourth, fifth and sixth in a similar race opening night, meet again in Wednesday’s feature race. Speedy 3-year-olds Forever Gold and Coastal Jazz add fuel to the pace scenario; the former was two for three as a 2-year-old, the latter wired a softer field in his season debut two weeks ago. Igottabooboo also showed ability while debuting as a 4-year-old last year.
Thursday, June 10, Race 8, (9:01 p.m.) $10,000 starter/$15,000 optional claiming, 3YO & UP, 6 ½ furlongs: The meet’s hottest connections–trainer Joe Toye, owners Greg and Chuck Conley, jockey Julien Couton–combine with Zatter in Thursday’s feature race. A 6-year-old Midnight Lute gelding, Zatter drilled open $10,000 claimers by four lengths in his local bow, running 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:03.42 and earning a 71 Beyer. Wine At Nine finished third while encountering traffic problems two weeks ago and his 17 local wins must be respected. The added distance figures to help his cause. Emerald Downs newcomer Adens Dream has banked over $283,000 and is 15 for 24 in the money on dirt. Mixo has a strong late kick but is winless in 11 tries at 6 1/2 furlongs and just 2 for 28 at Emerald Downs. Silver Fury misfired when well-backed in his local debut, but could be dangerous if he clears the field early. Rate for Me is a 14-time winner with over $225,000 in earnings, but probably wants more ground.
