$100,000 Gottstein Futurity-Nominations

Muncey prevails in the WTBOA Lads Stakes


AUBURN, Wash. (Sept 15, 2019) – The 24th season of racing wraps up with the $100,000 Gottstein Futurity on Sunday, September 22.

At 1 1/16 miles, the Gottsetin is the longest and richest race of the meeting for 2-year-olds, and the marquee on a closing day program also featuring the $25,000 Pete Pedersen Overnight Stakes for 3-year-olds and up, and $25,000 Horsemen Appreciation Overnight Stakes for older fillies and mares.

Nineteen horses are nominated to the Gottstein, including three stakes winners: WTBOA Lads Stakes winner Muncey, Washington Cup Juvenile Colt & Gelding champ Unmachable, and Washington Cup Juvenile Filly winner Windy Point.

Five fillies are nominated, and fillies have won the Gottstein five times at Emerald Downs including twice in the last three years (Blazinbeauty, 2016; Northwest Factor, 2018).

Entries for the Gottstein, Pete Pedersen Overnight Stakes and Fan Appreciation Overnight Stakes will be taken Thursday. If more than 12 horses are entered in the Gottstein, preference will be determined by money earned.
