The Horsemen's Liaison can be reached in the Race Office or by phone at 253-288-7753. The liaison is available to assist owners in arranging box seating, dining reservations, will-calls and hotel accommodations, or to provide information on other local amenities.
The Horsemen's Bookkeeper Office is open Wednesdays 8am-3pm, Thursdays & Fridays from 4:00pm until the last race. On weekends and holidays, the office is open from 12:00pm until the running of the last race. Call 253-288-7760 for inquiries.
Purse money is guaranteed by the HBPA and will be available 48 hours after the running of a race. Owners and trainers are required to deposit jockey fees before a horse starts.
Purse money will be available through an HBPA guarantee 48 hours after the day of the race except for stakes races which require WHRC clearance for 1st, 2nd & 3rd placing.
For IRS purposes, it is mandatory that all owners have a W-9 Form on file in the Horsemen's Bookkeeper Office before their horses compete. Canadian residents are required to complete a W-7 Form. No funds will be released without these forms on file. The IRS also mandates that Form 8300 be filed whenever cumulative cash deposits of over $10,000 are made into an account.
Owners claiming a horse must have cleared funds, plus 9.5% King County sales tax for geldings, on account with the horsemen's bookkeeper prior to the running of the race. Claim deposits must be cash, cashiers check or cleared purse money.
